Nortel is launching a "Smart Power Management" software platform that the company says helps reduce radio network power consumption in GSM networks and delivers significant energy and cost-savings for mobile operators. Mobile Wireless Infrastructure Market Grows 13% in Q1 2008

Synergy has issued a report which shows the worldwide mobile wireless infrastructure market has climbed 13.1 percent year over year. The fastest growing market segment was Mobile Softswitch, which grew 43.8 percent year over year, followed by UMTS equipment, which increased 27.3 percent year over year.  more
