In India, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (bsnl) has broken with the other Indian GSM networks and has said that it opposes the introduction of Caller Party Pays (CPP) to the Indian market. bsnl says that the cost of receiving a call has fallen for cell phone owners and there was no need to incentivize the cell phone users to receive calls from land-lines. It is worth noting that bsnl is a major land-line operator and would probably see a net loss of revenue under the proposals. bsnl also says that the plans for implementing CPP have not been fully worked out, and should be finalised before any decision is taken on offering the service." more
