Brightpoint Sees Revenues Down 40% YoY - Up Slightly on Q1
Handset distributor and logistics firm, brightpoint has reported a 40% drop in second-quarter revenues to US$723 million compared to the previous year, although it was up slightly on the equally poor Q1 revenues. Orange UK Signs Reseller Deal with Brightpoint
Orange UK has entered into an agreement with brightpoint, a distributor of wireless devices and customised logistic services. This collaboration in the UK is a direct distribution agreement that will see brightpoint's IT and PBX resellers target business customers with a range of solutions including Orange connectivity, Orange devices and SIM only deals. This agreement will allow Orange to leverage brightpoint's device agreements with Nokia and RIM as well as its exclusive agreement with HTC in the UK. more

Brightpoint to Cut Ten Percent of its Workforce
Handset distributor, brightpoint has announced a reshuffling of its European
operations and plans to cur between 275 to 325 jobs - around 10% of its total workforce. The Company also announced
a reorganization of its global executive team. As part of the natural
progression of integrating its purchase of Dangaard, the company expects that it
will cut some 50 to 75 positions at brightpoint's current European division
headquarters in Denmark by the end of 2008.

HTC Secures Global Distribution Deal for Windows Mobile Smartphones

Brightpoint and Dangaard Telecom to Merge
The handset distribution firm, brightpoint says that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all of the outstanding shares of rival distributor, Dangaard Telecom. The combined company will have a strong financial base with 2006 estimated pro forma revenues of $4.6 billion and operating income of $106 million. The combined entity will have more than 3,100 employees and over 25,000 customers in 25 countries and last year would have jointly shipped over 64 million devices. more

Brightpoint Secures Windows Mobile Distribution Deal
The distribution firm, brightpoint has announced that its subsidiary brightpoint North America has signed an agreement with High Tech Computer (HTC) to distribute HTC GSM devices. The agreement permits brightpoint to serve as the sole authorized distributor for HTC's Microsoft Windows Mobile-based GSM devices and related accessories to regional carriers, mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and their respective independent dealers, value-added resellers (VARs), and retailers in the United States and Canada. more

Top US Companies See $72 Billion in Improved Working Capital
