ZTE Wins Indian GSM Network Contract
China's ZTE has won a GSM network roll out contract from India's Loop Telecom (formerly BPL Mobile) for an unspecified number of circles. Last year Telecom Loop received licences to start GSM operations in 21 telecom circles in the country. It has received spectrum for 20 circles. more

India's BPL Mobile, which offers services in Mumbai has rebranded itself as "Loop Mobile" as the firm also launches its EDGE coverage in the city. The company announced the completion of its network expansion and has now doubled its capacity by deploying the latest NGIP (Next Generation Internet Protocol) and EDGE. more
