Research In Motion (RIM) has shown off its first ever flip phone - the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone. The quad-band EDGE and Wi-Fi based BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone features two color displays, and the external LCD makes it easy to preview incoming emails, text messages and phone calls without opening the handset, while the large, 240 x 320 internal LCD displays messages, videos and web pages. more

HTC Launches iPhone Challenger Smartphone
Taiwan's HTC has announced the global launch of the HTC Touch, a new handset with touch screen navigation. The company says that the HTC Touch represents extensive research and development and the conviction that fingertip control will enable more efficient, natural and intuitive touch screen navigation. Touchscreen Handset Gets Tactile Feedback
The Samsung SCH-W559 handset which has a touchscreen display will have a tactile feedback when users touch the screen. The SCH-W559 uses a large 260,000-color QVGA LCD touchscreen display to replace the traditional mechanical keypad as the primary input mechanism. Users receive confirming tactile cues when they press graphical onscreen controls, and they can customize the response by selecting one of five feedback profiles for these cues. Samsung launches Optical Joystick Phone
