American Tower to buy 196 Towers from Cincinnati Bell
US tower owner, American Tower has entered into an agreement to acquire 196 of Cincinnati bell's wireless communications towers for US$100 million. The towers are located primarily in Ohio and Kentucky and currently average 2.1 tenants per tower. Cincinnati bell will remain a tenant on all 196 towers pursuant to a long-term Master Lease Agreement. more

Bell Canada Profits Jump on Strong Mobile Subscriber Growth
bell Canada has reported a jump in 3rd-quarter profits to C $558 million (US$533 million), compared to C $248 million a year ago. bell's operating revenues increased by 1.2% to C$3.79 billion (US$3.62 billion), as higher product revenues from the acquisitions of The Source and the remaining 50% of the equity of Virgin Mobile Canada not already owned by bell and growth in video revenues more than offset declines in local and access, long distance, and wireline data revenues. more

Canada's bell Aliant Regional Communications Income Fund has reported that its 3rd-quarter net profits fell slightly to C$74.3 million on lower revenues and a restructuring charge. EBITDA however, rose slightly to C375 million. more
