BlackBerry Messenger Facing Shut-Down in Saudi Arabia

Research in Motion is seeking to clarify reports that its BlackBerry Messenger service could be shut down in Saudi Arabia, ostensibly for security reasons. The Arab News daily quoted the Al Watan newspaper as saying that the Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC) wants to be enabled to monitor instant-messages sent over the BlackBerry Messenger (bbm) network.  more
