Nortel Wins Largest Ever 3.65 GHz WiMAX Contract
Nortel Networks has won a WiMAX supply contract from FairPoint Communications to provide a fixed-wireless internet service in the US states of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Nortel Wins Moscow WiMAX Contract
Russia's Comstar-United TeleSystems has chosen Nortel as the supplier for its WiMAX network in Moscow. The market for WiMAX in Russia is growing quickly with companies like Comstar leveraging its speed, capacity, and cost-effectiveness to expand their businesses and address the demand for wireless broadband. Rethink Research Associates estimates that the number of WiMAX subscribers in Russia will grow to 1.7 million in 2010 and 4.3 million 2012. more

Nortel Providing WiMAX Kit for Moscow Network
Russia based Comstar has selected Nortel equipment to develop the first mobile WiMAX network in Moscow. 160 base stations are expected to be built in Moscow by the end of 2008. The overall investments in the project are expected to amount to approximately US$20 million in 2008. more

Nortel Wins CDMA Expansion Contract in Nigeria
Nortel has won a CDMA network upgrade contract from Nigeria based Multi-Links Telecommunications worth US$45 million. The initial phase of the contract has been awarded and will use Nortel's CDMA 1xEV-DO Rev A solution in the metropolitan region of Lagos, the prime economic center of the country. more

Nortel Forms WiMAX Partnership with Alvarion
Nortel says that it has realigned its wireless broadband strategy to address early market opportunities that are emerging for WiMAX and LTE.
