Taiwan Debates Renewing GSM Licenses in 2012
There is a dispute amongst Taiwan's mobile network operators over the fate of the existing GSM licenses which are due to expire in 2012. The incumbent holders want them renewed, while the 3G and WiMAX license holders want the licenses terminated and the radio spectrum refarmed to all the companies. more

Intec wins Taiwanese 3G contract
Intec Telecom Systems has signed a second deal with Taiwan-based 3G operator Asia Pacific Broadband Wireless Communications (APBW) to supply its settlement solution InterconnecT. Intec's solution will be installed alongside Intec's Inter-mediatE convergent mediation solution, which APBW purchased last month. APBW plans to launch the first CDMA2000 commercial service in the country this year, in the 800MHz frequency band that was awarded in the recent Taiwan 3G spectrum auction. more
