Alvarion Wins Italian Mobile WiMAX Contract

Alvarion says that it has won a Mobile WiMAX deployment contract from aria, the only telecom operator in Italy with a national WiMAX license. Under the agreement, aria will build a network at the 3.5 GHz frequency to offer broadband services to all 21 Italian regions.  more

Alcatel-Lucent Wins Italian WiMAX Contract

Alcatel-Lucent has been selected by Italian internet service provider, aria as the prime supplier for building and maintaining a nation-wide wireless broadband network based on WiMAX 802.16e-2005 (Rev-e) technology. The first 130 sites will be deployed by Alcatel-Lucent in Puglia and Veneto Regions.  more
