Windows Phone OS to Overtake Apple iPhone by 2015 - Report

­The worldwide smartphone market is forecast to grow 55% year over year in 2011 as a growing number of users turn in their feature phones for more advanced devices. Android Shakes Up U.S. Smartphone Market

The Android operating system (OS) continued to shake up the U.S. mobile phone market in the first quarter (Q1) of 2010, moving past apple for to take the number-two position among smartphone operating systems, according to The NPD Group. The research reveals that based on unit sales to consumers last quarter the Android operating system moved into second position at 28 percent behind RIM's OS (36 percent) and ahead of apple's OS (21 percent).  more

Worldwide Mobile Phone Sales Down 6% - Smartphones Up 27% in Q2

Worldwide mobile phone sales totalled 286.1 million units in the second quarter of 2009, a 6.1 per cent decrease from the second quarter of 2008, according to Gartner.
