Apple's Steve Wozniak Seen with a White iPhone

­Apple's co-founder, Steve Wozniak was seen last week carrying the elusive white variant of Apple's iPhone, which has been repeatedly delayed due to apparent manufacturing difficulties. BlackBerry Overtakes Apple in US Mobile Web Stats

BlackBerry OS overtook Apple's iOS for the first time in the USA in November in terms of mobile internet usage according to web analytics company, StatCounter. The company's research arm, StatCounter Global Stats finds that for the first time in the US BlackBerry OS at 34.3% overtook Apple's iOS which recorded 33% in November.  more

Apple takes the lead in USA smart phone market with a 26% share

In Q3 2010, the worldwide smart phone market grew an impressive 95% over the same quarter a year ago to 80.9 million shipped units. Nokia retained its leadership position, albeit by a diminished margin, with a 33% share of the market. Apple's healthy performance this quarter saw it achieve a 17% share worldwide, a little ahead of RIM, which held a 15% share this quarter.  more

iPhone Platform top for Software Developers

Fifty-three percent of developers quizzed by iGR build applications for the Apple iPhone OS, followed by RIM BlackBerry OS, Android and Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5. This is a shift from iGR's 2009 developer study in which Windows Mobile was by far the most popular OS. Developers generally develop for multiple platforms and are increasingly developing for more. Three-Quarter of Android OS Devices in North America

According to a monthly report from the mobile advertising agency, AdMob, the Android OS had its greatest concentration of unique devices in North America (75%) in April 2010, followed by Asia (12%) and Western Europe (11%). iPhone OS devices are more broadly distributed worldwide, but also had its greatest concentration in North America (49%), followed by Western Europe (28%) and Asia (14%).  more
