Three-Quarter of Android OS Devices in North America

According to a monthly report from the mobile advertising agency, AdMob, the android OS had its greatest concentration of unique devices in North America (75%) in April 2010, followed by Asia (12%) and Western Europe (11%). iPhone OS devices are more broadly distributed worldwide, but also had its greatest concentration in North America (49%), followed by Western Europe (28%) and Asia (14%).  more

Variety of Android Based Phones Increasing

AdMob has published its monthly view of the market and noted that the diversity of devices in the android ecosystem is increasing, driven by the launch of new devices from different manufacturers with various form factors, capabilities, and OS versions over the past seven months. Apple and Android Devices See Strongest Relative Usage of Mobile Web Sites

Mobile advertising agency, AdMob, has compared smartphone market share to mobile Web usage to determine that smartphones accounted for nearly 3 times more usage than their relative market share in its April 2009 Mobile Metrics Report. The report also compares usage of mobile Web sites to usage of HTML sites on mobile devices, finding that relative usage of both is highest on Apple and android devices.  more

iPhone Showing High Wi-Fi Usage Rates in the USA and UK

Mobile advertising agency, AdMob has highlighted growing Wi-Fi usage in the US and the UK in its November Metrics Report. Worldwide iPhone requests grew 52 percent month over month to 359 million in November, giving the iPhone 6.3 percent of total requests. In the US the iPhone is now the top device with 9.9 percent of requests.  more
