Florida Residents to Get Mobile Content Refunds from Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless and alltel customers in Florida, USA are to get refunds for unauthorised costs for mobile content, the Attorney General Bill McCollum has announced. Verizon Wireless has also agreed to adopt a series of "best practices" standards which will protect consumers from third-party charges, including charges for "free" ringtones and other cell phone content customers either didn't order or didn't realize would result in a monthly charge.  more

The USA based, alltel Wireless has announced the launch of its "ringback tones" service that enables customers to choose a song or sound that callers will hear while waiting to be connected to the customer. The ringback tone catalogue includes music from a variety of genres including hip hop, rock and country and enhances alltel's offerings of other device "customization" products, including, games, ringtones and wallpapers. more
