Alcatel-Lucent Wins South African 3G Contract
alcatel-lucent has won a EUR22 million (US$30 million) contract from South Africa's Vodacom to design, build and deploy an upgrade of its existing 3G network. 3G Coverage Enabled for Commonwealth Conference in Uganda
alcatel-lucent says that it has successfully deployed the first UMTS/HSPA network for Uganda Telecom (UTL) in time for the Summit of Head of States of the Commonwealth which takes place in Uganda. It is one of the first such deployments in the East Africa region. The new part of the network is seamlessly integrated in UTL's existing network. more
