Mozambique Operator to Speed Up Network Expansion
Mozambique GSM operator, mCel has announced plans to speed up its planned US$70 million investment to expand its network coverage in rural areas and improve urban network quality. In a statement, the company said that it would add some 110 new base stations by the end of the year to increase network capacity urban areas - and some 90 base stations in rural areas which are not currently covered. more

Mozambique Planning to Float Dominant Operator on Local Stock Exchange
The Mozambican government plans a share float on Mozambique's stock exchange (BVM) of a significant part of the shares of Mo§ambique Celular (Mcel), a company source told Macauhub. "The decision has been made, the State will sell some shares," the source said noting that, "it would never be less than 20 percent of the shares." more
