Brazilian mobile network is reported to have invited four companies to participate in its LTE trials in the country - alcatel-lucent, Huawei, ZTE and Nokia Siemens Networks. India's BSNL Bans Huawei, ZTE from 5.5 Million Line GSM Contract
India's BSNL has formally barred China's Huawei and ZTE from bidding in the latest round in its on/off tender for some 5.5 million GSM lines for its Northern and Eastern zones. According to a report in the Economic Times newspaper, the state-owned telco has specified that only Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks and Alcatel Lucent will be able participate in the bidding process. more

USA based Cox Communications has announced the successful completion of voice calling and high definition video streaming over an LTE enabled network. Cox's trials utilize the AWS and 700 MHz spectrum that it acquired at Federal Communication Commission auctions in 2006 and 2008. Cox spent over $550 million for radio spectrum licenses to support its wireless plans, which include wireless broadband. more
