Managed Services for Network Equipment OEMs to Reach $6.4 Billion in 2009
Managed services for mobile networks returned about $19 billion revenue in 2008, ($5.8 billion for network services and $13.4 billion for IT-related services.) Europe led managed services adoption: Tier One operators there face stiff competition, so they have turned to managed services to improve their margins. Ericsson has been ranked at the top of the latest Vendor Matrix released by ABI Research, maintaining the position it held in the last edition of this Matrix. alcatel-lucent and Nokia Siemens Networks claimed the second and third spots in the company's new evaluation of worldwide IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS) infrastructure vendors. alcatel-lucent showed a stellar rise compared to its #6 rank in the previous Matrix, while Nokia Siemens held its previous position. more
