Alcatel-Lucent Starts Shipping 700Mhz Based LTE Base Staions

alcatel-lucent says that following certification from the U.S. telecoms regulator, the FCC, it is now shipping its 700 MHz LTE base stations to service providers in the United States. Alcatel-Lucent Breaks into Profit on One-Off Items

alcatel-lucent has reported that its second quarter revenues dropped by 4.8% to EUR 3.9 billion, but that it also broke back into profit after reporting a net income of EUR 14 million. The company lost EUR1.1 billion in Q2 last year, when it was affected by a EUR 810 million impairment charge. The company however recorded net gains of EUR 277 million on three one-off items.  more

Alcatel-Lucent Wins Canadian Network Rollout Contract

Canadian greenfield mobile network operator, Globalive Wireless has awarded a multi-million dollar, three-year contract to alcatel-lucent. Under the agreement alcatel-lucent will supply Globalive with its LTE-ready 3G radio access network offering, including radio network controllers, node Bs (base stations) and a flexible wireless network management system. For the project alcatel-lucent also will provide a variety of professional services including site acquisition and construction, radio frequency network design and optimization as well as overall network planning and design.  more

Turkcell selects Alcatel-Lucent for "All IP" 3G transmission network in Turkey

Alcatel-Lucent Wins Chinese 3G Contract

alcatel-lucent says that a local consortium has won a TD-SCDMA contract from China Mobile covering the deployment of its phase III TD-SCDMA mobile networks in 11 provinces. The contract was won by alcatel-lucent Shanghai Bell, and Datang Mobile.  more

Telenet selects Alcatel-Lucent as network integrator

Telenet and alcatel-lucent have announced a major step in the operator's mobile MVNO project. ­Telenet, a provider of media and telecommunications services in Flanders, selected alcatel-lucent as overall network integrator and has now announced a 7-year frame agreement with alcatel-lucent.  more
