Roshan Deal to Lease Capacity on Afghan Telecom Network
Afghanistan based mobile network operator, Roshan has signed a deal with Afghan Telecom to access its National Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) Backbone Ring Network. The OFC, constructed by Afghan Telecom, will complement Roshan's existing infrastructure, enabling Roshan to ensure the redundancy of its network and provide additional capacity for its growing number of subscribers. more

Afghanistan Plans CDMA Network
Afghanistan's Ministry of Communications has outlined the plans for its CDMA network. H. E. Minister of Communications and IT underlined that now they sign an agreement with two Chinese companies (Huawei and ZTE) and plans to sign another agreement with an American company names GSI to equip and supply Afghan Telecom to facilitate their digital mobile phone services within six months in the country. more

CDMA Switch-On Disrupted by Snow
On Saturday, December 24, 2006 Ministry of Communications through Afghan Telecom inaugurated the CDMA Switch consisting 2000 phone lines in Daikundi Province, although heavy snow disrupted the planed launch ceremony. more
