Qualcomm Says Thailand Needs at Least Three 3G Networks
Qualcomm Thailand country manager, Kaneungjit Suriyathumrongkul has warned that Thailand will need at least three 3G networks to ensure sufficient competition in the market. Ms Suriyathumrongkul also noted that MVNOs were an option for the country, but only if the underlying network is good and expressed concerns with the idea of a shared national network. more

Thailand's government has approved - in principle - the 3G business plan for state owned operator, TOT as proposed by the Information and Communications Technology Ministry. Thailand's Advanced Info Service (AIS) says that it should be able to roll out 3G services, even without a specific operator license - by offering 3G services over the company's existing 900mhz spectrum.
