3G Operator, Hi3G Granted 900Mhz Spectrum in Sweden
The Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) has made the decision to approve an application from the operators TeliaSonera, Swefour, Tele2, Telenor and Hi3G for frequencies in the 900 MHz band. The present licences in the 900 MHz band will be renewed and it will be possible for the operators to phase in new technology for mobile broadband while at the same time continuing to offer GSM mobile telephony. more

Vodafone Extends New Zealand 900Mhz License to 2031
Vodafone has completed a series of radio spectrum swaps in New Zealand and renewed its license in the 900mhz band. The swap in January of two 4-MHz portions of spectrum between NZ Communications and the Crown came about following discussions involving all the mobile network operators. The Government can now amalgamate some spectrum it manages, which means more will become available for non-cellular uses. more

Ericsson expands SÃÂminn's WCDMA network into 900MHz band
Ericsson has formed a partnership with Icelandic operator Sƒminn through a contract to expand its WCDMA/HSPA network into the 900mhz band - for the rural and remote parts of the country. Under the two-year agreement, Ericsson will be the sole supplier of WCDMA/HSPA radio access equipment and the GSM/WCDMA common core network. more
