Synergy has issued a report which shows the worldwide mobile wireless infrastructure market has climbed 13.1 percent year over year. The fastest growing market segment was Mobile Softswitch, which grew 43.8 percent year over year, followed by UMTS equipment, which increased 27.3 percent year over year. more

Huawei says that it has been awarded a GSM network expansion contract by Thailand's True Move. According to the contract, Huawei will provide a softswitch network based on 3gpp R4 architecture to expand True Move's whole core network covering Bangkok, south, north and northeast of Thailand. The network will be based on an IP backbone with TMSC, GMSC and VMSC. more
