Telecom New Zealand Announces WCDMA Network Launch
Telecom New Zealand has announced the early launch of its WCDMA overlay of its existing CDMA network - for the 13th May. CEO Paul Reynolds said the development of the Telecom XT Mobile Network had progressed extremely well and the service will be operational across the country from launch day. more

Qiao Xing Mobile to Boost 3G Phone Development Staff
China's Qiao Xing Mobile says that it plans to accelerate its 3g mobile phone R&D by adding 200 engineers to its existing R&D team in Beijing in 2009. The new personnel will spearhead the Company's research, design, development and commercialization of 3g handsets, with a focus on TD-SCDMA and WCDMA products. more
