SK Telecom Plans LTE Launch in 2011
South Korea's SK Telecom has outlined plans for the network development over the next few years, including the launch of Mobile VoIP and its first LTE network. SK Telecom's President and CEO Jung Man-Won also said that the company will work to greatly improve 3G network performance and expand open Wi-Fi zones so as to boost wireless data usage. more

Fitch Ratings says today that mobile VoIP (voice over internet protocol) in the European telecoms industry is unlikely to achieve mass market take up for some time. However, as network quality improves, selective usage of mobile VoIP could start to impact operators' revenue from higher tariff services like international calls and voice roaming. more
