Reliance Launches 3G Network in Four Indian Cities
India's Reliance Communications (RCom) has announced the launch of its 3G services, starting with the Top 3 Metros of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, along with the city of Chandigarh, making it the country's first 3G operator to cover all the Top 3 Metros. India finally launched a 3G network today as state-controlled operator, Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Limited (MTNL) launched a WCDMA network in the capital city, Delhi. The company is only offering a "soft-launch" though, and coverage is limited to the main business and political districts, Connaught Place, Sanchar Bhawan, Rajaji Marg, India Gate, Pragati Maidan, Delhi Gate, and Minto Road. more

India's BSNL to Launch 3G Network in Jan 2009
India's state owned mobile operator, BSNL will launch its 3G network in the north-eastern states and Chennai by January 2009, Communications and IT Minister A Raja has announced.
