French Operators File Complaints Against 3G License Auction

­Two of France's three mobile network operators have filed formal complaints against the regulator's upcoming 3G license auction. Both Vivendi and Bouygues Telecom have filed complaints with France's highest administrative court, the Conseil d'Etat over the reserve price being set for the license.  more

Delays to Thailand's 3G License Auction Could Damage Investor Confidence

Thailand Proposes $100-$200 Million Reserve for 3G Licenses

Ukraine to Auction Off One 3G License by Year-End

­The Ukrainian telecoms regulator, the National Communications Regulatory Commission (NCRC) has announced plans to sell a single 3G license later this year. The license, which will be valid for fifteen years will have a reserve price of UAH 400 million and the auction is due to start on November 30th. The license will award 25Mhz of radio spectrum to the winner.  more

Fitch: No Significant Credit Impact from Thailand's Upcoming 3G Licencing

­Debt ratings agency, Fitch says that it does not anticipate any substantial impact on the credit quality of Thailand's mobile phone operators from the upcoming 3G licence spectrum auction. Fitch offers ratings on two of the country's operators: Advanced Info Service (AIS, 'BBB+'/Stable) and Total Access Communication (DTAC, 'BBB-'/Stable).  more

India Finally Sets 3G License Fees

India's government has finally fixed the price for the country's long delayed 3G license auction. An empowered Group of Ministers (eGoM ) has set the base price for pan-Indian 3G spectrum at Rs 3,500 crore (US$714 million). The reserve price for WiMAX spectrum has been set at Rs 1,750 crore.  more
