Macedonia Offers Additional 3G Licenses

Macedonia's telecoms regulator, The Agency for Electronic Communications has announced plans to award three additional 3G licenses through a public tender. Telefónica O2 Slovakia Says Now Operating 800 Base Stations

Telefƒ³nica O2 Slovakia says that it is now operating more than 800 GSM base stations, meeting a condition of its operating license. Its network is currently covering by signal 88 percent of population, which is nearly 2-times more than required by the license.  more

Macedonia to Tender Three More 3G Licenses

Macedonia's Ministry of Transport has announced plans to tender for three further 3G licenses in the country. Earlier this year, the regulator granted a 3G license to Cosmofon, but it has not launched its service yet. Following the completion of the 3G licensing tender held by the Agency of Electronic Communication (AEC), Cosmofon was allocated 2x15 MHz plus 1x5 MHz spectrum.  more
