AIS Suspends 3G Expansion Pending License Auction

Telefónica O2 Slovakia Says Now Operating 800 Base Stations

Nokia Siemens Building a 3G Network in French Polynesia

The new operator, Mara Telecom, has signed an agreement with Nokia Siemens Networks to design, build and operate a complete greenfield mobile network in order to offer 3G/HSDAP services in French Polynesia. Within three years, the project is expected to serve up to 100,000 subscribers in the main islands of the French Polynesia.  more

Huawei Exec to Head Nokia Siemens Chinese 3G Joint Venture

The Chinese joint venture set up by Siemens and Huawei, TD-Tech has appointed a Huawei executive as its new CEO. The venture, which is now 51% owned by Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) named Hou Jinlong, a vice-president of Huawei Wireless Networks to replace Klaus Maler, who stepped down last month.  more
