India's BWA Auction Ends - Earns $5.5 Billion
After 16 days and 117 rounds, India's BWA license auctions have concluded, with the government reaping a windfall of US$5.48 billion. Infotel secured licenses in every circle available, giving it the sole national network license held by a private company. State owned operators, BSNL and MTNL already have licenses, and will be required to match the public auction valuations. more

India Finally Sets 3G License Fees
India's government has finally fixed the price for the country's long delayed 3G license auction. An empowered Group of Ministers (eGoM ) has set the base price for pan-Indian 3G spectrum at Rs 3,500 crore (US$714 million). The reserve price for WiMAX spectrum has been set at Rs 1,750 crore. more
