Operator News in Brief - 16th Dec 2009

Russia based WiMAX operator, Yota has trials of its WiMAX network in Nicaragua. The initial service will span Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua, before expanding coverage to other major cities including Masaya, Granada and Leon. The commercial launch is expected around the middle of next year.  more

Fitch Affirms Deutsche Telekom at 'BBB+'; Outlook Stable

Fitch Ratings has today affirmed Deutsche Telekom's (DT) Long-term Issuer Default rating (IDR) at 'BBB+' with a Stable Outlook. Its other ratings have been affirmed at senior unsecured 'BBB+' and at Short-term IDR 'F2', including the debt issued by Deutsche Telekom International Finance B.V. and guaranteed by DT.  more

Chinese Operator Starts Trials of "EDGE Evolution" Upgrade
