The case for network sharing gets stronger

With a mature market, declining voice revenues and now the economic
downturn, the argument for European mobile network operators (MNOs) to share
their networks has never been stronger. Although there have been several
network-sharing initiatives, what is needed is a more coherent commercial and
regulatory framework across the EU to make network sharing the norm rather than
the exception.

Hutchison's 3G Call May Connect at Last
Could this be the year Hong Kong conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa finally gets a payoff on its $25 billion bet on 3G mobile-phone technology? Based on the scant value the markets assign Hutchison's loss-making third-generation phone operations, investors aren't counting on it. But they may want to leave their phones on in case some good news breaks. more
