Hutch UK Claims 90% 3G Coverage
Hutchison 3G UK says that it now has 90% population coverage for its 3G services in the UK. 3 launched in the UK on 03/03/2003. Working in partnership with Ericsson under their managed services agreement, 3 has undertaken one of the fastest network rollouts in European telecoms history. 3 and Ericsson have now integrated over 7,250 radio sites into the network ensuring that all the major towns and cities in the UK have 3G coverage. more

3 UK Switches 2G Roaming Contract
Hutchison 3G UK has swapped its existing GSM roaming agreement in the UK with O2 for rival operator, Orange. The new agreement follows the completion of an auction for 3's national roaming business. Hutch says that Orange tendered the most competitive bid for the supply of voice, text and data services and has been selected as the preferred national roaming provider for 3 from the end of 2006. more

3 signs Irish roaming agreement
3 Ireland has signed a national roaming agreement with Vodafone Ireland. The agreement will give 3's customers full access to Vodafone Ireland's GSM (or 2G) network, ensuring that 3's customers will have the same level of national coverage as Vodafone Ireland's GSM customers. more

5000th 3G base station for UK network
