EV-DO Mobile Broadband Tops 100 Million Subscribers Worldwide
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) says that CDMA2000 and 1xev-do technologies have surpassed 450 million and 100 million users, respectively, worldwide. The total cumulative cdmaOne and CDMA2000 subscriber base has reached 463 million, growing by 12 million net subscribers during the second quarter of 2008. more

WiMAX equipment market revenue up 6% in 3Q
The WiMAX market is heating up quickly, with worldwide sales of fixed and mobile WiMAX equipment up 6% in 3Q07 to $206 million following a 14% jump in 2Q07, says Infonetics Research in its latest report. Worldwide unit shipments of fixed and mobile WiMAX equipment are up 16% in 3Q07, driven by continued rollout of new fixed and mobile WiMAX networks, and further expansion of those already in operation, the report shows. more

CDMA2000 Surpasses 400 Million Subscribers Worldwide in Q2 2007
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced a very strong second quarter for CDMA and CDMA2000 new subscriptions worldwide. 1xev-do added 10 million new users in the second quarter and nearly 40 million in the year between June 2006 and June 2007. The CDG maintains its prediction that the number of 1xev-do subscribers will surpass the 100-million-user milestone in the fourth quarter. more

CDMA2000 Continues to Expand Rapidly Across all Markets and Regions
The CDMA Development Group (CDG) has announced that 251 operators in 105 countries across all continents of the globe have selected CDMA2000 technologies to deliver 3G services, including more than 100 operators which have chosen CDMA2000 within the past three years. There are currently 215 CDMA2000 operators offering commercial 3G services and 36 more will launch within the next six months. Most of these operators are on the accelerated path to introducing CDMA2000 1xev-do mobile broadband services; 124 operators have already deployed or are introducing EV-DO Rel 0 and 30 operators have launched or are about to launch EV-DO Rev. Alcatel-Lucent has been awarded a contract to deploy a CDMA2000 1xev-do Revision A (Rev. A) high-speed wireless network on the island of Macau for China Unicom. Under the terms of the contract, Alcatel-Lucent will provide incremental hardware and software upgrades to existing CDMA2000 base stations supplied by the former Lucent Technologies. more
