A study for the Dutch government has reported that 3G base stations could cause nausea and headaches in people close to them. The study compared the impact of radiation from GSM base stations with 3G base stations.
"If the test group was exposed to third-generation base station signals," the report stated, "there was a significant impact . . .they felt tingling sensations, got headaches and felt nauseous."
Interestingly, the study found that cognitive functions such as memory and response times were boosted by the GSM and 3G base station emissions.
The government ministers responsible for Economic Affairs, Health and Telecommunications said follow-up research was needed to confirm the findings as well as to look at any longer-term health effects and biological causes.
The study was conducted by the Dutch technological research institute TNO."
