Motorola Expands Network Management System

Gamma Projects has announced that Motorola Global Telecoms Solutions Sector (GTSS) had decided to expand its rollout of Gamma Projects' Network Infrastructure Management System (NIMS), Gamma NetOne, throughout its operations in Western Europe. The deal encompasses all Motorola operations within Western Europe, with the first project beginning in Portugal during February. Gamma Projects will supply Gamma NetOne to the Motorola Centre of Excellence in the UK who will then implement the software throughout their Western Europe Region. The databases will be held and managed at Motorola's Datacentre in Swindon, United Kingdom.

The Gamma NetOne software application streamlines the complex process of planning, implementing and operating a telecommunications network. Every stage of the network lifecycle is covered including network rollout, maintenance, upgrade, inventory and asset management and network parameter management.

"Gamma NetOne enables Motorola to have absolute control over its network deployment and operational maintenance projects which will in turn save time and money, both in capital and operating costs." said Viv Williams, Operational Director, Motorola Western Europe. He added "In addition, it will enable us to compare our performance across projects and countries."

Colin Sloper, of Motorola's Network Services Organisation said "We have worked closely with Gamma Projects over the past months to develop a spoke and hub solution which will allow us to manage and support Gamma NetOne from our UK Datacentre, whilst giving remote access to our projects all around the globe. This centralization has allowed us to standardize our processes and has led to Motorola being able to deploy Gamma NetOne within 30 days without the need of additional Gamma Projects resource."
