The Association of Wireless Professionals (AOWP) has reached an agreement with RMS Communications to create a recycling program to recycle and refurbish older cellular telephones and equipment. The funds raised will help fund AOWP's education and training scholarship programs.
Under the terms of the agreement, RMS Communications will support AOWP's new education and training scholarship program by donating a percentage of the revenue earned from the turned in equipment to AOWP's educational outreach program. The program provides scholarships to aspiring wireless professionals and gives them the opportunity to acquire the skills needed to find employment in one of the most excited segments of the telecommunications industry.
"This announcement marks a major milestone for the Wireless Professional, community's progress toward building affordable education for the Wireless professional," said Harry Brix, Chairman of the Brix Group and AOWP Advisory Board Member. "This new program will benefit the wireless workforce and the employers who hire them by educating their staff on how to most effectively communicate with customers. The wireless industry also stands to gain by having a larger pool of potential employees and additional market revenues as a result of a more qualified workforce."
