Teligent has signed an agreement with Maroc Telecom for the delivery of a messaging solution primarily intended for management of mobile voice mails. The order from Maroc Telecom is Teligent's first on the African continent and was negotiated and signed by Teligent France. The solution delivered within this agreement is a complete voice mail system for Maroc Telecom's mobile users but it will also to some extent handle messages for fixed clients.
"Traditionally we are very strong within messaging solutions and this order proves our competitiveness further since competition in this segment is very fierce. Maroc Telecom decided on our solutions thanks to our proven and open platform technology, our flexibility and our responsiveness and understanding of their needs," said Per Hallerstam, CEO of Teligent France.
"The deal with Maroc Telecom is very important for us for a number of reasons," said Ulf Lindsten, CEO and President of Teligent. "First of all the deal is of significant size, which is obviously very pleasing, but it also proves the viability of some of our key growth strategies. We have stated that apart from developing existing markets, Teligent will grow through expansion on new geographic markets via our established offices in Western Europe and the U.S. and through increased focus on key players -- such as Maroc Telecom."
The order value remains confidential upon Maroc Telecom's request.'"
