Ericsson Handsets Work with Apple Macs

Apple Mac users have often bemoaned the lack of software available for connecting their cellphones to their beloved Mac's, with the cellphone manufacturers concentrating developing software for Windows based users.

Now, software writer, Jonas Salling has created "Ericsson Client" which allows Mac OS X users to send files to an Ericsson cellphone, using a PowerBook's IR-eye, cable, or Bluetooth. It also enables Ericsson/Mac users to make use of the PIM capabilities in their phone by importing contact and calendar items from their favorite calendar/address application into the cellphone, and you can download the Phone book and calendar from your phone to your Mac.

Full details, and a free (shareware) download are available from http://homepage.mac.com/jonassalling/EricssonClient/

This could drive a lot of frustrated Apple Mac owners towards considering Ericsson as their phone of choice - although it should be noted that the software was not developed by Ericsson itself, so they loose a few brownie points there.'"
