Jordanian Network to Fund Micro-loans for Communities

Jordan's MobileCom has signed an agreement of cooperation with the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD) to provide financial assistance in support to the Good Will Campaign provided to underprivileged communities throughout the Kingdom to help these communities establish economic self-sufficiency through micro project financing.

HRH Princess Basma expressed her appreciation for MobileCom's commitment to the Good Will Campaign and the company's support to provide much needed aid to the underprivileged communities. Her Royal Highness also thanked MobileCom's CEO Jean-Christophe for his personal involvement in overseeing the creation of this partnership as he prepares to leave Jordan following the end of his term as CEO.

MobileCom has enjoyed a long term relationship with JOHUD which started from its active role in the Good Will Campaign during the holy month of Ramadan 2001, building on this relationship MobileCom is partnering with JOHUD to provide support to finance micro-projects throughout the Kingdom aimed at creating income-generating micro-businesses in farming, agriculture and other ventures identified by JOHUD and supported by a network of over 50 JOHUD community development centers throughout the Kingdom.

"Through this agreement we will be able to give back to the Jordanian community which has supported us since day one of our launch," said Erick Valette, chief marketing officer at MobileCom. "Our responsibility as a corporate member of the Jordanian community and our core values have propelled us to partner with JOHUD, in an effort to touch the lives of the less fortunate members of the community. MobileCom will continue to take an active role in community development for the many years to come."'"
