Comverse has announced the successful completion of interoperability certification between the Comverse MMSC (Multimedia Messaging Service Center) and the MMS-capable Sony Ericsson T68i handset. Comverse is conducting a broad program to ensure its interoperability with all major MMS terminal and MMS server vendors.
"This interoperability announcement is the result of a great deal of hard work," said Zeev Bregman, Chief Executive Officer of Comverse. "We are happy about the successful completion of interoperability testing with Sony Ericsson to achieve this milestone. Comverse has been a leader in the efforts to set and implement the 3GPP and WAP Forum MMS specifications. We are looking forward to the new communications environment that will result from multimedia deployment."
Market research indicates there is strong consumer interest in MMS, which delivers image, audio and video messaging to multimedia-enabled terminals. In addition to person-to-person multimedia messaging, MMS will introduce a whole new dimension to a variety of mobile information and entertainment services.'"
