According to Ardi Ratassepp, Head of Terminal Sales Department at EMT, as the rollout of Windows 8 tablets takes off in 2013, we could be seeing the market change once again.
"The share of Windows tablets might reach 15-20%. Currently, the sales of Windows-powered tablets is still small, as the first ones came out at the end of 2012. The total tablet market might double by the end of 2013," Ardi Ratassepp said.
"The first 4G tablets hit EMT stores at he end of last year, and we expect the sales to pick up speed in 2013," Ratassepp added.
An average tablet buyer is 30-39 years old (both men and women), but tablet PCs are popular among all age groups. Approximately 5% of EMT's senior customers (60+ ) have subscribed to a tablet plan.
