
The company also reported that 71% of its contract customers now use smartphones - up from 51% a year ago. Data and messaging revenues also rose, by 17% to make up 45.5% of total revenues.
As a subsidiary of France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom, the company does not independently report profit figures.
Olaf Swantee, Chief Executive Officer of Everything Everywhere, commented: "We are seeing improved underlying service revenues, driven by rapid data revenue growth, as we successfully upgrade customers to smartphones and higher value postpaid agreements."
The consolidation of the two separate networks continues, and the company has now merged its Orange and T-Mobile warehouses and handset supply chain, and has plans to reduce headoffice space by a third.
