Lebanese mobile network operator, Alfa says that it has recently started the installation of its fifth solar powered site in Hourata reserve. The solar power generator will be installed completely by the middle of next month.
The solar system ensures a five-day power supply by means of batteries. In default of sunlight, the solar panels will continue to recharge the batteries, regardless of the worst weather conditions that Lebanon might experience during winter time. The system has been designed to operate during the rainiest and windiest days especially in December according to official statistics.
Samer Salameh, Chairman-CEO of Alfa said that the operator has installed four other solar sites that are operational in Ainata, Hnaider, Tilal and Kfartoun.
Alfa is a state-owned mobile network - managed by Orascom Telecom under contract with the government.
