
Azerbaijani mobile network operator, Bakcell says that it has launched an EDGE upgrade to its network. The network upgrade was provided by Nokia Siemens Networks as part of a general contract which also included a GSM network expansion.
The contract was announced in February, indicating that the EDGE upgrade was completed within just a few weeks.
The operator is the second largest in the country, behind Azercell, and according to figures from the Mobile World tracker, ended last September with around 950,000 subscribers and a market share of 19%.
