Orascom Shuffles Management Around

Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) has shuffled its management - moving the current CEO of Bangladesh's banglalink, Rashid Khan to head up Pakistan's Mobilink, while appointing Ahmed Abou Doma to take over the vacant spot at banglalink. The vacancy at Mobilink was caused when the current CEO, Zouhair Khaliq was moved to Oracap, OTH's fully controlled subsidiary established in late 2007 to serve as the Group's banking arm.

Zouhair Khaliq will lead various group-wide strategic initiatives including OTH's mobile banking activities, infrastructure consolidation and cost optimization.

Naguib Sawiris, Chairman and CEO of OTH commented: "I am happy to announce these management changes which capitalise on the Group's management expertise and demonstrate our ability to redeploy our key managers in a highly effective manner while supporting our policy of promoting from within and providing unique career opportunities within the Group. We have nominated to these key positions three of our most experienced and successful managers that we are sure will guarantee a continuation in our growth strategy and further successes for the Group.

Ahmed Abou Doma is currently the Marketing Director of Egypt's Mobinil and has held this position since 2003. Mr. Abou Doma joined the marketing team of Mobinil in 1998 where he led the development of postpaid and prepaid services as well as tariff design for the consumer segment. Prior to joining Mobinil, Ahmed started his career in the Information Technology field where he held several positions with multinational firms such as IBM and Datum IDS.
