Algerian mobile operator, Orascom Telecom Algİrie (Djezzy) has ordered a Provisioning and Activation Solution from OSS vendor, Comptel. This deal follows the announcements in 2007 of Comptel being chosen as preferred supplier by Orascom Telecom, and of the subsequent selection by Orascom joint venture Tunisiana.
In Algeria, at Djezzy, the Comptel solution will be used to improve the service fulfillment processes for mobile services including planned 3G services.
Tamer El Mahdy, CEO at Orascom Telecom Algİrie said: "We chose Comptel because the reliable delivery of services to our customers is one of our main focuses that will keep on being served through our strong investment policy in that domain. Comptel's provisioning and activation solution has been proven time-and-time again at operators across the world, including of course at other Orascom subsidiaries."
Comptel Provisioning and Activation Solution automates the provisioning and activation processes. With a single interface, it covers the entire workflow - from service order to start of billing.
Mr. Simo S¤¤skilahti, Comptel's Senior Vice President Products and Solutions, concludes: "Comptel is really pleased to welcome Orascom Telecom Algİrie to the already impressive list of Comptel's customers in North Africa. We are also very pleased to be deepening our relationship with Orascom. We feel this is a real proof-point of our reliable delivery."
According to figures from the Mobile World analysts, Djezzy finished June with some 14.2 million subscribers, and a market share of 46%. The country itself has a population penetration level of 91%.
