
Russian mobile network, MegaFon says that it has completed expanding its network coverage to include 100 of the Moscow underground railway network stations. Mobile communication is provided at central stations, all stations of the Ring line and a significant part of the radial one. According to development plans, all metro station will be covered by MegaFon by autumn 2009.
"Mobile communication for metro passengers is a top target for MegaFon. And we are well on the way to it, narrowing a gap with old hands of the market. It is important, that today our subscribers can make calls and use any other services, such as mobile Internet, being in Moscow metro. SMS and data transfer is of especial popularity among them," says Igor Parfenov, General Director of MegaFon-Moscow.
Such metro stations as Dmitry Donskoy Boulevard, Voykovskaya, Dmitrovskaya, Krasnogvardeyskaya, Kuzminki, Otradnoye, Polezhaevskaya, Textilschiki, Timiryazevskaya, Universitet and Schukinskaya are among those included into coverage zone of the mobile network from the beginning of this autumn. Besides, construction works on Ring and Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya lines of Moscow underground completed as well.
