Qualcomm and Foxlink Sign 3G CDMA License Agreement

Qualcomm and Taiwan based Cheng Uei Precision Industry, (Foxlink) have entered into a module/modem card patent license agreement. Under the terms of the royalty bearing agreement, Qualcomm has granted Foxlink a worldwide patent license to develop, manufacture and sell modules and modem cards implementing the CDMA2000(R), WCDMA and/or TD-SCDMA standards.

The royalties payable by Foxlink are at Qualcomm's standard worldwide rates.

"Qualcomm is pleased to expand its relationship with Foxlink to include a 3G CDMA, WCDMA and TD-SCDMA module/modem card license agreement," said Derek Aberle, executive vice president and president of Qualcomm Technology Licensing. "Foxlink's experience with consumer electronics devices, including their recent entry into the production of displays utilizing Qualcomm's mirosol IMOD technology, will now grow to include the development and manufacturing of 3G CDMA modem cards and modules."
