KPN and Germany's debitel have reached an agreement regarding the acquisition of debitelÃ's Dutch operations for an undisclosed consideration. debitel Nederland is the largest MVNO in the Netherlands. Through the acquisition of debitel Nederland, KPN will take over approximately 300,000 post paid and 230,000 pre paid customers, which are already served via its own network.
In 2007, debitel Nederland had net sales of approximately EUR 247 million. The company has approximately 130 staff.
Following the acquisition of Telfort in 2005, this acquisition is a further step in KPNÃ's strategy of strengthening its position in the Dutch mobile market.
The completion of the acquisition is subject to approval by the Dutch competition authority, NMa.
